This introduction to compilers is the direct descendant of the well-known book by Aho and Ullman, Principles of Compiler Design. I skipped a lot, used youtube when the water was to deep and glossed fildtype a lot of details. You can face the topic from a more theoretical side, dealing with details on bottom up parsing still, it implies an in-depth knowledge of grammars theoryhandles and viable prefixes, SLR or canonical LR or LALR parsers and techniques for the relative tables construction by hands and for this, add a detailed and solid knowledge of Push-down FSAs along with grammars.
The examples and algorithms were helpful in understanding the core concepts. Retrieved 21 October I just received this book yesterday and I noticed a couple problems with this book right away. This book is an absolute winner. I have read this book during my engineering and it is compelled very well. This is a book you keep on your shelf to impress other geeks who may pass by. Not only is it one of the only references on the subject of compilers as a whole, but it’s very well-written and contains a huge amount of information.

However, it’s very heavy reading and somewhat outdated compared to alternatives.

However on the downside you should have basic or intermediate Princip,es Skills. Pearson offers special pricing when you package your text with other student resources.
The product price is ridiculous. One small complaint I might have, and this is not something that the authors could control, is that some important new developments have been made in the world of compilers and interpreters in the past few years.
