It removed all of the tension and suspense that could have been redeeming feature of the book; instead, I was told what was going to happen.
I didn’t know if I’d be able to like the main characters or if the story would make it seem like cheating is okay. Including a token mental health problem just for the sake of it?
Sometimes It Happens
There were a lot of point in the story where he had a chance to meet up with Ava, to break up with her. Ava’s assigned her boyfriend Noah to cheer up Hannah. For fans of Sarah Dessen and Elizabeth Scott, this book should be added to everyone’s summer wishlist. The reason is probably very profound, or its something as stupid as thinking its fun when my car spins in circles.
That kind of just makes it seem like getting cheated on is no big deal. However, in the book, there is a hypochondriac called Lacey, whose illness is treated so superficially that I was close to being offended.
Sometimes it happens that your bff steals your boyfriend and its ok because you’re the bitchy character who everyone hates For the most part, Hannah and Noah just act like close friends throughout the novel, with the occasional “he touched my hand and I felt sparks” type sentence sprinkled in to remind us that this is supposed to have some romance.
Hannah was a little frustrating in the beginning but not in a bad way. Sold by bidzbooks and ships from Amazon Fulfillment. My Life Next Door.

I hate books or anything, really that involve infidelity. I especially liked the alternating chapters from the summer to the first day of school and how everything tied together. Facing a summer of loneliness, Hannah turns to her best friend Ava for comfort. These characters didn’t feel real, and that made the book very difficult to read for me; I couldn’t feel any empathy, or sympathy or anything at all for these cardboard characters.
Hannah was a total psycho. The story alternates from what happened over the summer between our main characters to the present day, starting back at school.

For a birthday present. Have I mentioned that Lacey germaphobe and almost always believes that there’s something wrong with herself? I was happy with the way the story went, but it seemed like it just abruptly ended. Then there’s Ava, her longtime BFF whose just gotten back from her summer job in Maine and from whom Hannah’s keeping a secret; sometmies she knows could destroy their friendship.

There are a lot of reasons why I shouldn’t have liked Sometimes It Happens. Now classes have started and she needs to face the consequences of what happened that summer.
